Radevormwald to host the “Champions League of Tchoukball” next March
As announced by the European Tchoukball Federation (ETBF) yesterday, the winning bid was from TuS Oeckinghausen, in collaboration with us at the DTBV. Behind the scenes, the Organising Committee has already started preparing for the 2019 European Winners’ Cup in earnest.
Bidding for the premium Tchoukball event in the European club Tchoukball calendar opened at the end of March, after closure of the 2018 edition in Traiskirchen, Austria. The process was open for 3 months, to allow National Federations (NFs) to consider applying.
The Czech Republic finished 4th in the World Beach Tchoukball Championships today with a tense and often close match against number 3 seeds Macau. The Czechs started the match very strongly and it was only in the final period that the Macau team developed a lead.
Hungary became one of the International Tchoukball Federation's (FITB) newest members at the 2017 FITB General Assembly in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Members of the FITB in Europe are automatically members of the ETBF. Hungarian President Anita Kunos thanked the General Assembly for the election of Hungary and spoke to the ETBF afterwards.
The European Tchoukball Federation (ETBF) was created in 2014 and we are the continental federation in Europe for the sport of tchoukball, much like UEFA for football or European Athletics. As a continental federation recognised by our International Tchoukball Federation (FITB) our main role is to manage all European competitions, from the flagship European Tchoukball Championships with elite international teams to friendlies on the beaches of Europe. We also run the European Winner’s Cup which sees the top European club teams compete for honours every year.
